Did Joseph Smith see God?
Joseph Smith claimed to looked upon God the Father and Jesus but did he?
But now mine own eyes have beheld God; but not my natural, but my spiritual eyes, for my natural eyes could not have beheld; for I should have withered and died in his presence; but his glory was upon me; and I beheld his face, for I was transfigured before him.
Pearl of Great Price Moses 1:11
For no man has seen God at any time in the flesh, except quickened by the Spirit of God.
Doctrine and Covenants 67:11
And there were many whose faith was so exceedingly strong, even before Christ came, who could not be kept from within the veil, but truly saw with their eyes the things which they had beheld with an eye of faith, and they were glad. Book of Mormon Ether 12:19

Did Joseph Smith See God?
Joseph Smith believes God the Father is talking to him?
We need to remember that the Bible says that no man can see God the Father but people have seen God the Son (Jesus Christ).
God the Father is Spirit:
Exodus 33:20. “You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live.”
*******************
John 1:18. No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.
*******************
John5:37. And the Father Himself, who sent Me, has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form.
*******************
John 6:46. Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from God; He has seen the Father.
*****************
1 John 4:12. No one has seen God at any time. If we continue loving one another, God remains in us and his love is made perfect in us.
***************
1 Timothy 1:17. Now to the King of eternity, incorruptible, invisible, the only God, be honour and glory forever and ever. Amen.
This text tells us the God in invisible.
*****************
1 Timothy 6:16. Who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honour and everlasting power. Amen.

Only Jesus has seen the Father in Heaven but no one on earth.

Below are some of the Bible text the Mormons use to support this idea that peole can see God:
Genesis 17:1. When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless.
Gen 19:1-2. This was Jesus and not the Father.
John 8:56-59. (Jesus answered) 56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.” 57 Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?” 58 Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.” 59 Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus.
*********
Genesis 18:1. Then the Lord appeared to him by the terebinth trees of Mamre, as he was sitting in the tent door in the heat of the day.
The question is, was this God the (Father) or the God the Son (Jesus)?
John 5:22-30 NKJV. For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son, 23 that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. 24 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. 25 Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live. 26 For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself, 27 and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man. 28 Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice 29 and come forth--those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation. 30 I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.
Acts 17:31 NKJV. He (Jesus) has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained.
Note: The Lord that appeared in Genesis 18:1 was Jesus as He had came to pass judgement upon Sodom and Gomorrah.
Genesis 32:30. So Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: “For I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.”
Note: This must of been Jesus the Son as the text below tells us that no one has seen God the Father
John5:37. And the Father Himself, who sent Me, has testified of Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His form.
John 6:46. Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from God; He has seen the Father.

Genesis 33:8-10. Then Esau said, “What do you mean by all this company which I met?” And he said, “These are to find favour in the sight of my lord.”9 But Esau said, “I have enough, my brother; keep what you have for yourself.” 10 And Jacob said, “No, please, if I have now found favour in your sight, then receive my present from my hand, inasmuch as I have seen your face as though I had seen the face of God, and you were pleased with me.
Note: This text does not say Jacob saw Gods face.
Genesis 33:10. New Revised Standard. Jacob said, "No, please; if I find favor with you, then accept my present from my hand; for truly to see your face is like seeing the face of God since you have received me with such favor.

Exodus 3:6. So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am.” 5 Then He said, “Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.” 6 Moreover He said, “I am the God of your father the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God.
Genesis 32:30. So Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: “For I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.”

Exodus 19:11. And let them be ready for the third day. For on the third day the Lord will come down upon Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people.

Exodus 19:21. And the Lord said to Moses, “Go down and warn the people, lest they break through to gaze at the Lord, and many of them perish. 22 Also let the priests who come near the Lord consecrate themselves, lest the Lord break out against them.”
Note: The Lord is up on Mount Sinai was completely in smoke and the people are down below so they could not see God. The text says Moses heard God's voice and does not say Moses saw God's face...
Note: Exodus 33:20. But He said, “You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live.” 21 And the Lord said, “Here is a place by Me, and you shall stand on the rock. 22 So it shall be, while My glory passes by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass by. 23 Then I will take away My hand, and you shall see My back; but My face shall not be seen.”
Also note this was Jesus and not the Father. Jesus said below:
John 14:15. If you love Me keep My commandments.
John 14:21. He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him."
It was Jesus on Mount Sinai giving Moses the 10 Commandments.

It was Jesus on Mount Sinai giving Moses the 10 Commandments.
Exodus 20:18 Now all the people witnessed the thundering, the lightning flashes, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood afar off.

Numbers 12:4-8. Suddenly the Lord said to Moses, Aaron, and Miriam, “Come out, you three, to the tabernacle of meeting!” So the three came out. 5 Then the Lord came down in the pillar of cloud and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam. And they both went forward. 6 Then He said, “Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, the Lord, make Myself known to him in a vision; I speak to him in a dream. 7 Not so with My servant Moses; He is faithful in all My house. 8 I speak with him face to face, Even plainly, and not in dark sayings; And he sees the form of the Lord.
